All hands on deck for the 21st Bled Strategic Forum
Our team is back from summer holidays, and August is shaping up to be as fast-paced as ever. Regardless of our day-to-day projects, everyone at CEP is one way or another pitching in to prepare for the 21st Bled Strategic Forum International Conference, taking place on 31 August and 1 September 2026 under the theme "The Power to Shape the Future."
From speaker logistics and technical setups to airport transfers, student team coordination, and a myriad of side events at the Bled Strategic Forum, August is never boring for CEP.
The team from the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Slovenia is finalising the programme, and full details will be revealed over the coming weeks. Be sure to follow the BSF and CEP social media channels to stay up to date with speaker reveals and agenda updates.
We hope to see you in Bled at the end of the month!.

46 young leaders, one fragmented world: Young Bled Strategic Forum 2026
This year, we will welcome 46 outstanding young leaders from diverse professional and academic backgrounds to Kranjska Gora for the Young Bled Strategic Forum. From 28 to 30 August 2026, they will explore some of the world's most pressing challenges, exchange diverse perspectives, and develop new ideas for navigating an increasingly fragmented world. Guided by this year's theme, After the Rupture: Agency and Resilience in a Fragmented World, participants will examine how young leaders can move beyond merely reacting to disruption and instead take responsibility for shaping what comes next.
The team is already slowly unveiling the programme on Young BSF's Instagram (link), but for now, here's a sneak peak of what some of the activities will be:
- An opening session and interactive workshop to set the stage and introduce the theme
- The Agency Dilemma: To Cooperate or to Separat? — an activity about the global quest for critical raw materials in an increasingly polarised world
- After the Rupture, What Comes Next? Shaping the Future of the Euro-Atlantic Order — an interactive workshop where participants will work together to identify strategic priorities and develop policy recommendations on a more resilient Euro-Atlantic community
- From Inheritance to Agency — reflecting on history, responsibility, and the choices ahead and how can young people shape the future through its choices and actions

ENTER: CHANGE Forum: BiH's Visionary Voices – Leading the Change
📅 27 August – 1 September 2026📍Kranjska Gora, Slovenia
Twenty young future leaders from Bosnia and Herzegovina will participate in the first ENTER: CHANGE Forum, an intensive leadership programme focused on democratic governance, communication, anti-corruption, EU integration and youth engagement.
Through interactive workshops, expert-led discussions, study visits and exchanges with Slovenian and international practitioners, participants will strengthen their leadership skills, explore solutions to key challenges facing Bosnia and Herzegovina, and develop recommendations for the country's future. The programme will conclude with joint sessions at the Young Bled Strategic Forum, where participants will engage with high-level policymakers and expand their international networks.

Open Call: Danube Youth Council
📅 Deadline: 1 September 2026
This autumn, more than 10 Danube Youth Council mandates will again become vacant.
Looking towards the fifth mandate year of the Danube Youth Council, the EU Strategy for the Danube Region looks for young people aged 18-29 to participate and make ideas and viewpoints of young people heard and considered on a political level.

Successful conclustion of thematic cluster visit: Sustainable Housing Solutions for Ukraine
📅 6–10 July 📍 Ljubljana, Bled, Celje
Representatives of nine Ukrainian municipalities and the Lviv Regional Military Administration visited Slovenia to explore sustainable housing solutions for communities and internally displaced persons. Through workshops, study visits and exchanges with Slovenian experts and municipalities, participants gained practical insights into affordable housing, urban regeneration, innovative financing and participatory planning. The visit strengthened Slovenian–Ukrainian partnerships and equipped local authorities with strategies to support resilient, long-term housing recovery in Ukraine.

Visit of two groups of Ukrainian children to Slovenia
📅 6 –12 July 📍Celje
📅 13–20 July 📍Kočevje
In cooperation with Municipality of Celje and Municipality of Kočevje we organized visits of two groups of children from Ukraine. Kočevje hosted 44 children from their partner municipality, Bucha and Celje hosted another group of 20 children, whose lives have been profoundly affected by the war. With these visits, we wanted to provide the children with a safe and welcoming environment, opportunities for recreation and cultural exchange, and a chance to enjoy a carefree week away from the challenges of everyday life. The children returned home safely after a memorable and relaxing week in Slovenia.
